The American Council of Engineering Companies of Houston is the local chapter of our national and state organizations, and, like them, we focus on those issues that are important to our members’ business of consulting engineering. ACEC Houston is comprised of over 100 member companies representing civil, geotechnical, structural and MEP engineering firms. We provide a forum for the interchange of ideas, a source of technical information and expertise and a political voice for the engineering interests in the Houston metropolitan region.
At each level of government and the economy the ACEC organization strives to promote the advancement of the practice of consulting engineering, the promotion of private enterprise, protection of the public’s welfare, the expansion of markets for engineering services and protecting firms from inappropriate liability threats.

GUEST SPEAKER: Steve Stagner, ACEC TEXAS President.
Mr. Stagner will discuss bills that were passed during the 84th Legislature such as: limitations on”duty to defend” an uninsurable standard of care provisions in public contracts, repeal of the $200 annual professional tax, Proposition 7 which will provide billions of dollars in highway investment if approved by voters. He will also bring members up to date on ACEC Texas’ public outreach of external communications and the ACEC Texas Public Policy Council.

The lunch meeting takes place every third Friday of the month at the HESS Club, 5430 Westheimer Road, from 11:30a.m.-1:00p.m. Cost is $35 per person payable by check or cash. Reservations are due by 5:00pm on Wednesday August 19th. You may send someone else from your firm if you cannot attend.
**NOTE (Effective Sept. 2014): The new rates for the luncheon are: $35/person for reservations received on time and $45/person for late reservations, no shows or requests for invoicing.
